Dear Friends, during 2023 we have continued our restoration work and have expanded both Cactus Wren and Monarch Butterfly habitats, with success!! Our milkweed areas are now attracting Monarch Butterflies and supporting Monarch caterpillars! These areas will be further expanded in the coming years thanks to the help of our amazing volunteers.

Continuing the effort we first spearheaded in 2018, our trained volunteers keep surveying the Penasquitos Canyon old-growth Oaks, and we continue financing their selective treatment against GSOB.

This year (2023) we also financed and supervised the restoration of the (existing as well as the newly built) Darkwood Canyon Trails: this will be a multi-year project, co-sponsored and co-financed by POPs.

We also led 30+ guided hikes.
