The San Diego Tracking Team is offering the next Wildlife Track & Sign Survey Training class on Saturday, July 20, 7:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve Ranch House. This class is FREE, but attendance is limited to 20 students and advanced registration is required at https://www.sdtt.org/wildlife-tracksign-survey-training-registration.html.
Age Restrictions: Children under 12 are not allowed, and participants between 12 and 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.
In this class, you will learn to identify the tracks and scat from a dozen common species that inhabit our open spaces preserves. You may not see them, but you can know they are here by finding their tracks and scat. You will also learn about SDTT's wildlife surveys and data collection protocols, conservation, habitat fragmentation, and more!
After completing the class, you will be eligible to join trackers of the San Diego Tracking Team as we conduct wildlife surveys four times a year at locations across San Diego region, from the coast to the desert.
We welcome the participation of all people from our region who are interested in our mission: https://www.sdtt.org/mission-vision-diversity-strategies.html.
