Hike Leader Jeanie Anderson will introduce “Birds of North America”

Our Bird Hike leader, Jeanie Anderson, will change pace for once and lead the pre-show discussion to “Birds of North America”, a play about birding, climate change and personal relationships. Jeanie will share what she learned in the last 17 years leading a Christmas Birds Count team, and how climate change has impacted birds in San Diego County. Jeanie has been leading interpretative bird hikes with the FLPCP for the past 10 years and has recorded and photographed many bird species that visit Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve and her native plants yard.

If you want to join us for a different type of field trip to the theatre, and catch Jeanie’s presentation, that’s happening on Thursday February 16th at 7 PM, Moxie is offering a discount to Friend’s members and Newsletter subscribers (use code: PQFRIENDS).

Jeanie will also be leading a Bird Walk on Saturday, February 18th at 10 AM for the Flora and Fauna Day at the Ranch House and will return to her signature early morning “Birding With all Your Senses Walk” on March 18th, also leaving from the Ranch House area.

We are happy to support #moxietheatre, a local theater dedicated to producing work written by women+ and to providing career opportunities to women+ in theatre in the upcoming production of Birds of North America, a play about birds, climate change and personal relationships.

Birds of North America by Anna Ouyang Moench is a father-daughter story that spans decades in one suburban backyard. John and his daughter Caitlyn are birders. As they scan the skies, looking for elusive birds, the climate and their worlds will change as they struggle to understand the parts of one another that defy understanding.
