SEEKING HIKE LEADERS!

Enjoy being outdoors and sharing your knowledge and/or enthusiasm with other community members?  Then think about becoming a hike leader for the Friends of Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve.  The Friends currently lead hikes in the Canyon, on Black Mountain, Del Mar Mesa, Carmel Mountain, and 4S Ranch.  Our hikes currently focus on birds, native plants and lichens, conservation, as well as experiencing nature in multiple ways. We are interested in including other topics such as geology. The hikes are generally short, an hour and a half to 2 hours. Some leaders give regular hikes every couple of weeks, some once every couple of months. You set the date and time.
